Recently we had the honor to capture a stunning quinceañera, and we wanted to share some highlights and tips from this unforgettable session. Maritza picked a great location in Eureka, CA. We went to the Eureka Sequoia Park and found a small waterfall to quickly pose in front of!
The Vision:
When planning a quinceañera photoshoot, it’s all about the story. From the elegant dress and sparkling “Ramo” to the sentimental details that make each celebration unique, our goal is to capture the personality and spirit of the birthday girl. Whether it’s soft and fairy-tale-like or bold and glamorous, we work with the family to create a theme and aesthetic that reflects the young woman she’s becoming.
Location:
For this shoot, we chose the Eureka Sequoia Park. We wanted to play with color contrast and knew that Maritza wanted a green forest background filled with life. Green also creates a great contrast with her beautiful velvet red dress, and at Omorfia Photography, we like to create images that will result in beautiful pictures for you to look at. Natural light played a huge role, creating great shadows and light play among the trees.

Our quinceañera was radiant in her Red Velvet dress. Her court was respectful and very playful, which created great candid-like images.
She brought her own personality into the shoot—whether it was laughing with her court of honor, posing confidently solo, or simply posing with a hint of a smile. We encouraged her to just be herself, and that authenticity made the photos all the more beautiful.
